Appointments: Restructuring sees new MD named at Crossroads group

Crossroads Truck and Bus has restructured its senior team with the appointment of Paddy Limb, formerly divisional director, as managing director.

The move follows the company's recent acquisition of Midlands-based Hartshorne Motor Services. Former managing director Martin Cronin will become group chairman and managing director of Hartshorne to ensure the smooth integration of Hartshorne and its 10 depots as part of the newly expanded group, based in Birstall, near Leeds.

Crossroads is a Volvo commercial truck dealer, which distributes parts and maintains vehicles throughout Yorkshire, the Humber and Lincolnshire.

QBE, the specialist in business insurance, has appointed Cath Timberlake as commercial manager in the Leeds office.

She will report to Elliot Miller, general manager for the North & Ireland.

PwC in the North has appointed Dan Stott to lead a team of regional business modelling experts.

Based in Leeds, he will work with companies to help them understand the impact of key decisions on their future performance.

Exchange Chambers has continued its expansion in Leeds by welcoming criminal barrister Stephen Grattage as its latest tenant.

Mr Grattage joins Exchange Chambers from Sovereign Chambers in Leeds. His criminal practice includes fraud, serious sexual offences and large scale conspiracies.

Specialist law firm Arc Property Solicitors has appointed ex-army officer Martin Williamson as operations director.

The role sees the RMA Sandhurst graduate responsible for HR, financial management and day to day operations at the Harrogate firm.

Accountancy firm Grant Thornton has made a number of senior appointments. Jenny Brown has been promoted to director in the not-for-profit sector team. Claire Davis has been promoted to associate director in the corporate finance team where she will continue to develop the firm's offering in Sheffield, supported by newly promoted manager, Alexei Callender.

Capital Taxes specialist, Rachael Dronfield, is promoted to senior manager. Other manager promotions include Leanne Fisher and Gillian Hargreaves in audit and Kathryn Austin in special accounting projects.

The York, Selby and Malton Business Advice Centre has appointed York businessman Bob Scrase as its new chairman. He is a director of York printing company Fulprint.
