Appontments: Former radio development chief to fly the flag as a new MD

NORTHERN Flags, which produces customised display and event marketing products, has appointed Iain Clasper as its new managing director.

Mr Clasper joins the Leeds-based firm from Radio Aire’s parent company Bauer Media.

He was most recently development director for Bauer’s radio division leading a series of digital launches across Yorkshire and the rest of the UK.

* Cheviot Asset Management has expanded its UK team with a senior appointment. Fraser Wilkinson, who has joined Cheviot as an investment director from Deutsche Bank, will be based in Leeds and focus on clients located east of the Pennines.

* The financial planning team in the Leeds office of Investec Wealth & Investment has appointed Tina Thackery as associate director. Ms Thackery, who is a chartered financial planner and a fellow of the Personal Finance Society, brings 11 years experience to the role. Previously she worked as an independent financial adviser with another Leeds company, and at Legal & General as a business development manager.

* Commercial property and rating specialist Dunlop Heywood has appointed David Nunn as the new head of asset and property management following a major new business win. Mr Nunn brings 24 years of experience to the new senior role at the Leeds-based firm. Before joining Dunlop Heywood he was estates manager for Craegmoor Healthcare.

* Law firm Ridley & Hall has appointed solicitor Adam Fletcher as a partner. Mr Fletcher, who will be based in the company’s headquarters in Huddersfield, was previously a partner at Hartley & Worstenholme in Pontefract.

* Accountant and business adviser BDO has increased its partner headcount to 12 in Leeds, following the appointment of Tom Vallance and the promotion of Paul Davies.

Tax partner Tom Vallance joins the firm from Deloitte and has previously worked at PwC. He specialises in providing tax advice to the large corporate market and has significant experience in advising on real estate matters and in working with private equity backed businesses.

Newly promoted partner Paul Davies joined BDO in Leeds as a director in 2007. He has more than 15 years experience in delivering audit and assurance services to clients ranging from FTSE100 companies, private equity firms and their portfolios, as well as fast-growth owner-managed businesses.

* Williamsons Solicitors has strengthened its newly opened Bridlington offices with the appointment John Harrison.
