Awards to honour the companies that are surviving and thriving

ORGANISERS of new business awards are uncovering some of the true stars of Yorkshire’s commercial world.

The Yorkshire Fastest 50 Awards have been launched by top 100 UK law firm Ward Hadaway in association with the Yorkshire Post to celebrate the region’s pace-setting private sector businesses.

The awards honour the top 50 profit-making businesses with the largest annual growth in their turnover by featuring them in a special list to be published in the Yorkshire Post next month.

On March 25, awards will be handed out to the fastest growing small, medium and large businesses at an awards ceremony with one of the three winners then being crowned Yorkshire’s overall fastest growing business.

Ward Hadaway, whose Leeds office has enjoyed strong growth since its establishment in 2008, has brought the Fastest 50 to Yorkshire after running a North East version of the event since 1998.

Martin Hulls, senior partner at Ward Hadaway in Leeds, said: “When we started the North East Fastest 50, we did so because we wanted to generate a positive message for business at a time when there had been what we thought of then as economic set-backs.”

He said companies that had overcome the challenges of recent years to survive and thrive deserved to be celebrated.

Businesses are selected for inclusion based on accounts sent to Companies House.

Each company which makes it into the Yorkshire Fastest 50 will be invited to attend the Yorkshire Fastest 50 awards ceremony next month alongside some of the region’s leading business fig- ures.

The event will be introduced by Yorkshire Post editor Peter Charlton and will also feature a special guest speaker.
