Back together again after 34 years for Procter businesses

Construction consultancy Rex Procter & Partners has reunited with the business it separated from 34 years ago.

The company, which has offices in Leeds and Bradford, has merged with Rex Procter & Partners in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The business separated to operate as two independent businesses in 1980.

The firm said the merger would increase group turnover by at least 10 per cent to a projected £10m in 2014 and would also boost the firm’s geographical reach and sector diversity.

Collectively the firm will directly employ over 100 people.

Andrew Cooper, managing director of Rex Procter & Partners, based in Yorkshire, said: “Over the last five years the business has maintained steady growth and we have become established as one of the largest construction consultants in the North of England. A robust business plan sets out our ambitions to increase business opportunities in the South and opening our London office in 2011 has already proved successful.”

He added: “We have been working with the directors Gerry and Daren at Rex Procter & Partners in Marlow over the last few years and realised that our respective values and operating ethos was still aligned, 30 years after they were instilled by the original partners. It’s a natural partnership with exciting prospects.”

Rex Procter & Partners offers a construction consultancy service including quantity surveying and cost management, project management, employer’s agent, mechanical and electrical quantity surveying, contract advice, building surveying, CDM coordinator services and project monitoring.

Clients include British Land, Valad Property Group and Evans Property Group. The business is preferred supplier for Morrisons.

Gordons, Mazars and Bond Dickinson advised on the merger.
