Bank scheme to strengthen SME links

A BANK’S relationship managers will spend two days a year working for their local SME customers to gain a better understanding of the challenges facing these businesses.

NatWest has launched its Working With You programme for all relationship managers in England and Wales, who look after businesses with a turnover of up to £25m. The programme also extends to senior directors and credit teams. Each participant will be tasked with examining how the business operates, assessing its goals and ambitions, plus any barriers or challenges it faces.

A key part of the programme is to collect and share the information from each visit among all relationship managers to ensure they are better equipped to help the bank’s SME customers.

One of the first participants in the programme was Liam Kane, regional director for NatWest in Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Mr Kane spent a day working with The Website (Leeds), an independent trade web offset printer, which provides a variety of finishing services through its sister company Glyn Print Finishers.
