Bank's offices sold in £6.73m deal

THE home of Royal Bank of Scotland has been sold in a £6.73m investment deal.

No 1 Victoria Place, in Leeds, has been acquired by Cheshire-based Patrick Properties after being sold by the trustees of the London-based Henry Smith Charity.

The 33,000 sq ft building is currently let to Nat West Bank, which operates as the Royal Bank of Scotland, but the bank is closing the office next year as part of the its latest round of cuts, with the loss of 283 jobs.

It is at the southern end of Leeds' main business district and the total annual rent is 722,500, which represents 17.32 a sq ft, on a lease with seven years to run with a break clause in Dec 2012.

Patrick Properties, founded in 2002 by partners Brian Kennedy and Andrew Dickman, is a commercial property development and investment business with a property portfolio across northern England and eastern Europe.

King Sturge's investment team in Leeds brokered the deal.
