The consents will enable Beal to construct a further 300 new homes, in investments with a value of over £70m, in addition to its ongoing developments in Hull, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The housebuilder said the latest projects reflect the success of its current and recent developments and its confidence in the new-build housing market.

Beal has secured detailed planning consent from West Lindsey District Council for the Somerby Croft development of 80 homes, off The Belt in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, and expects to begin construction this summer.

Somerby Croft is close to Beal’s The Swale development, which has grown into a highly sought-after community over the past three years.

Beal has also secured detailed planning approval from East Riding of Yorkshire Council for new developments in Hessle and Kirk Ella.

The Hessle development, called Pilgrim’s Walk, will feature 80 homes off Boothferry Road – a stone’s throw from Beal’s successful The Paddocks development, where construction is now complete and all 47 homes have been sold.

Enabling works for the new development are expected to begin later this year.

The Kirk Ella scheme will see the expansion of Beal’s West Hill development, where the first phase of 130 homes is now complete.

West Hill II will feature 141 properties, with construction of the first homes expected to start later this year.

In addition, Beal is finalising a detailed planning application for a development of a further 90 homes in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

This follows the fast-selling St. John’s Fold development of 55 homes in the town, which is now in the final stages of construction, with all properties sold.

Richard Beal, chief executive of Beal, which is based in Hessle, near Hull, said: “These latest developments are in locations where we have a track record of popular schemes, so we’re looking forward to repeating that success.

“They also reflect our continuing confidence in the new-build housing market, despite the disruption caused by the coronavirus outbreak.”

He added: “There remains strong pent-up demand for new homes and we believe we have a major competitive advantage due to our unique business model, under which every buyer has the opportunity to work with our expert designers to make their new home fit their lifestyle and tastes perfectly.”

Beal is currently working on several developments including a high-profile city living scheme in Hull’s Fruit Market urban village, working with joint venture partner Wykeland Group.

Beal’s most recent development, The Greenways in Goole, saw the first phase sold out as buyers reserved 50 properties in just three weeks.

Family-owned Beal Homes has been building new homes for more than 50 years.

Chief executive Richard Beal represents the seventh generation of his family to have run construction businesses.

The housebuilder employs 150 staff in the region, including 80 skilled craftsmen.

It has a network of local suppliers and contractors, some of whom have worked with the company for more than 20 years.
