Business chiefs hail prize firms at awards

MORE than 150 business leaders gathered to celebrate the county's top companies at the Yorkshire Society's annual dinner and awards ceremony, which was held at the Leeds City Hilton.

The Business Achievement Award went to Leeds-based property firm Cubic Acquisitions, while the Serving the Community Award was presented to Community Partnership Solutions, the Leeds-based organisation

which helps community groups to achieve their potential.

The Yorkshire Charity of the Year award went to Dance United, a Bradford-based charity that offers dance-based alternatives to education programmes. Independent consultancy Tokos Solutions picked up the Diversity within the Community Award.

The guests included Gary Verity, the chief executive of regional tourism body Welcome to Yorkshire, and Serbian ambassador Dr Dejan Popovic. The award's supporters included ABDN, LS1 Club,

ATB Morley and Welcome to Yorkshire.
