Businesses set to land at airport location

ENTREPRENEUR Jim Hart is to move his businesses, Europlus Direct and One Global, from Saltaire to new premises near Leeds-Bradford Airport to cater for their future growth.

The acquisition of the 6,100 sq ft site at Airport West was backed by a £450,000 funding package from HSBC and was supported by commercial property consultancy Atkinson Associates.

Europlus Direct specialises in the sale of IBM maintenance services contracts, and has twice won a Queen’s Award for International Trade since its inception in 2004.

One Global, founded in 2008, is involved in recruiting linguists for companies across a range of sectors, as well as providing language translation services in more than 200 languages.

Mr Hart said: “The move to 2 Airport West has two core benefits; it gives us the capacity to grow and it also sends out a message to our international clients that we are focused on the overseas markets and we are flexible and accessible.”

Europlus Direct as a whole, including both the UK and international businesses, turned over £7.1m last year, while One Global recorded a turnover of £320,000 last year.

Mr Hart told the Yorkshire Post that One Global, which employs nine people and has a network of freelance linguists who are native speakers, plans to take on another two members of staff this year and an additional seven in 2014.

Mr Hart wants to add on an additional service to One Global in the future, for example digital marketing, to complement its existing multilingual recruitment and translation services.

Europlus Direct employs 40 people, including 11 in Africa.
