Charity backer Damart shows lighter side

Clothing catalogue firm Damart crowned more than eight years supporting Breast Cancer Campaign and over £115,000 of donations by lighting up its head office as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebrations this month.

Each October the Bingley-based company, best known for its thermals, designs a limited edition pink vest to be sold in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

Celebrities model the vest and staff also spend the year fundraising for the charity, as well as taking part in the charity’s “wear it pink” event.

This year, the company decided to celebrate its association with the charity by lighting up the building with giant images of the pink vest models.

Marketing director John Bottomley said: “It was a bit of a trial and hopefully something we can repeat in the future.”
