Charity night to mark 47 years

WHEN David Jones’s career began in Yorkshire’s commercial property sector, England were preparing to host the World Cup and the Beatles were at the top of the charts.

Mr Jones, business development consultant at Ilkley-based Quarmby Construction and chairman of the Sheffield branch of the Forum for the Built Environment, is organising a charity celebration and a tribute to his 47 years in the construction industry.

The event is being held on the evening of Saturday, September 29 in the Centenary Pavilion at Leeds United Football Club. The celebration will raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Mr Jones said: “I wanted to do something different for my birthday and to give something back.

“I came up with the idea of having a charity event and enlisted the help of some of my friends in the industry to help make it happen.”
