City centre offices secure first tenant

A PROMINENT office development in the centre of Leeds, which has stood empty since it was built in 2009, has secured its first tenant.

Recruitment firm Tigercom, whose customers include Samsung, Canon, HP, Dell and Xerox, will base its UK and European operation in a 1,350 sq ft penthouse office from April next year.

Broad Gate, on the site of the former Allders building, was renovated into 168,750 sq ft of office space, with shops on the ground floor. The offices offer the largest floorplates in the city centre, at almost an acre each.

Tigercom managing director, Tony Doherty, said: "We chose Broad Gate because it is the most prestigious office location in Leeds and one we feel will perfectly complement our superior candidates and clients and the service experience they receive."

This week the building was named as one of the top workplaces within the UK at the British Council for Office's National Awards.
