Samuel Smith Brewery launches delivery service for residents with shire horses

And now Samuel Smith's Brewery has started a home delivery service for residents in Tadcaster and Stutton in North Yorkshire.

The shire horses still need to be worked and the deliveries help to keep the animals fit, doubling as a morale-boosting welcome sight for the community.

Simon Crook, stable manager for Samuel Smith Brewery in Tadcaster, has been carrying out deliveries.

The horses are stabled behind the Angel & White Horse, the pub next to the brewery.

They are used to make local deliveries in and around Tadcaster five days a week in normal circumstances.

According to the business, which was established in 1758, everything in the brewery yard is “done quietly because that’s the way horses like it.

“Horses are, after all, creatures of quiet.”

Businesses across the country have been setting up delivery services during lockdown.
