Contracts put power into Magnomatics

A COMPANY which specialises in the development of electrical motors, generators and magnetic transmissions, has secured contracts to work on projects with Ford and Caterpillar.

Sheffield-based Magnomatics won contracts with both companies to develop its technology to power hybrid vehicles.

The grant funding for the two projects is in excess of £500,000. The project with Ford Motor Car Company, which is supported by the Technology Strategy Development Board Low Carbon Vehicles Innovation Platform, will develop the technology for use in hybrid passenger vehicles.
