Directors to help see Red’s head for expansion

A Yorkshire-based barbecue chain is gearing up for growth with the appointment of an operations director and a finance director.

Red’s True Barbecue, which will open its fourth smokehouse in Nottingham on January 30, has appointed Matt Snell as operations director.

Mr Snell, joins from Fuller’s where he was head of operations for the quality division, overseeing 98 of the company’s unbranded premium food-led pubs.

Craig Bell has been appointed finance director, joining the Leeds-based chain from Lardhar Group, the 50-site bar and restaurant outfit.

Red’s currently employs around 130 staff across its three sites in Leeds, Manchester and Headingley. The chain will employ another 65 people at its Nottingham site when it opens.

Scott Munro, co-founder of Red’s, told The Yorkshire Post that the business is looking at two more units across the North of England, to take its footprint from three to six sites before the end of the year.

He said: “We have a big focus on quality and service, underpinned by aggressive growth. With these two appointments we are building a market-leading team, and are now aligned to take Red’s rapidly forward and bring true barbecue to the masses.”
