It might seem surprising, but a Yorkshire based team is playing a significant role in the tower’s development.

DTZ’s Doha office has been appointed as letting agent on the office space at the 757.9 ft high Doha Office Tower, in West Bay, Doha.

DTZ Leeds has also been appointed to work with the owner to prepare a manual which will set guidelines about the way in which office space will be fitted out.

Doha Tower, also known as Burj Doha, is a high-rise tower based in West Bay with 46 floors above ground, three floors below ground and a total gross floor area of around 1.18m sq ft.

DTZ Leeds has been appointed to produce a “tenant’s fit-out” handbook to give clear guidance about the landlord’s requirements.

A DTZ spokesman said: “Built to the highest quality, the landlord of this office tower is keen to ensure that the design, construction and quality of work is controlled.”

Doha Tower was designed by French architect, Jean Nouvel.

The design reflects the needs of the local community.

It aims to connect the very modern with ancient Islamic designs.

Islamic screens have been designed to shade the building from high temperatures, as well as the sand residue found on glass throughout the region.

The building is designed for businesses who want to move into the West Bay district.

Commenting on the appointment, Philip Webb, DTZ Leeds’ senior director, said: “DTZ Leeds attended the site in Doha at short notice to meet with the owner and his team to understand the building.

“The tower is an award-winning, iconic building and DTZ was keen to deliver high quality advice to tight deadlines.”
