Entrepreneurs spring to the help of SMEs

LEADING entrepreneurs from across Yorkshire are lined up to brief fast-growing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the learning and mentoring opportunities available to support their expansion plans.

Not-for-profit business support group the Connect Gazelles is hosting the series of breakfast briefings. Each event will include an address from one of the group’s Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR), who give their time free to advise and mentor members.

Nick Butler chief executive of the Gazelles, said: “Our focus and passion is about helping businesses grow and to create wealth and jobs for the Yorkshire region.”

The briefing sessions are free and open to firms with a minimum turnover of £250,000 and up to £20m. Starting at 7.30am for 8am and running until 9am, forthcoming events are as follows:

n York Science Park, today, led by Richard Doyle, founder of Esteem Computers and chairman of Connect Gazelles.

n Holiday Inn, Royal Victoria, Sheffield, on February 5, led by David Grey, group managing director of the OSL Group.

n Beaumonts Insurance Brokers’ office, Bradford, on February 7, led by Carl Hopkins who is co-founder of elite-bods.

n Doncaster Football Club, on February 11, led by John Ryan chairman of Doncaster Rovers. Note; this will take place in the evening at 5.30pm-7.30pm.

n Rixonway Kitchens, Wakefield, on February 28, led by Rixonway’s chief executive Paul Rose.
