Eriks has super idea to boost support

ENGINEERING maintenance and repair company Eriks is to launch a 15,000 sq ft ‘superbranch’ in Leeds next month in a move that will create six new jobs.

The move will bring together two of the company’s existing sites in the area.

Eriks said the superbranch will allow it to improve its range of services and help local manufacturers and contractors to enhance the performance, productivity and profitability of their production systems and equipment.

The new site will combine two currently separate centres in Leeds, the Eriks’ industrial distribution service centre and the Eriks’ electro-mechanical service centre, into a larger space with more facilities.

The company will establish a local core competence centre for the repair and overhaul of pumps, including those used in food and beverage processing.

Bob Taylor, manager of the electro mechanical service centre, said: “The new site means larger premises, greater opportunities, more capability and an increased level of service for all our local customers.

“We’ll now have two overhead heavy lifting cranes to help us carry out repairs to larger machines.

“Previously we’d have had to send these to our site in Chesterfield, so we’ll now be able to save our customers in and around Leeds time and money.”

Jim Dourish, regional operations director, added: “We will truly be a 24/7, 365 days-a-year service and our increased stock range and skill sets will enable some extremely fast response times.

“For example, we will have the parts and capacity on site to build and supply hydraulic hose assemblies in an hour or less.

“The new site will really add value for our customers and planning is already in place for further expansion once we’ve launched in October.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Eriks and our local employees, helping both to secure existing jobs and create new roles as we grow.”

The distribution service at the new centre will launch on October 3, with the repairs and maintenance operation following later in the month.

Eriks supplies over 500,000 unique industrial products and has 88 integrated on-site stores and procurement centres.
