Forde in switch to new headquarters

WHEN Forde Recruitment first opened for business, Sheffield was hosting the World Student Games and Britain’s economy was in the grip of a recession.

Twenty years later, the company has entered a new era as it moves to new offices.

Forde, which employs 10 staff, has moved to Townhead Street in Sheffield from its former home in nearby Leopold Street.

Yuri Matischen, who recently completed his year as president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, declared the three-storey building open. Paul Forde, the managing director of Forde Recruitment, said yesterday: “The official opening was a very proud moment for all the team.

“Our move to new offices reflects our success over the last two decades and our commitment to develop the business.”

Forde Recruitment specialises in placing temporary and permanent staff into industry across the UK.

Its clients include DHL, Polypipe, Tarmac, Manheim and Greencore. Over the last 10 years, Forde Recruitment has acquired other recruitment businesses, increasing its share of the transport and clerical market.

Its core business has always been in the logistics sector. Last year, the company launched Forde Education, which recruits teachers and other educational specialists. The company is also developing the Forde Technical division which supplies temporary and permanent candidates to engineering, rail, civil engineering and construction companies.

Mr Forde said: “We are finding that as certain sectors of the market are strengthening, we are well placed to take up new opportunities.”
