Former BP drilling boss joins Petrofac

THE former head of BP's drilling operations, Andy Inglis, forced to stand down in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill last summer, has joined oil services company Petrofac to lead its growing production arm.

Petrofac said today that Inglis, former head of BP's core exploration and production unit, would become chief executive of its Energy Developments and Production Solutions businesses.

Petrofac is focussed on building and operating oil facilities for oil producers but, unusually for a services company, it also has an oil production unit.

Englishman Inglis, 51, will relocate to London from Houston to take up his role.
