Gala debut for Asian business body

MORE than 500 people attended the inaugural gala dinner of the Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA) in Leeds.

Speakers included Tory peers Lord Heseltine and Baroness Sandip Verma as well as Cobra Beer entrepreneur Lord Bilimoria and local business leader Roger Marsh.

Founders want to provide a unified voice for Asian businesses in the UK.

YABA president Amjad Pervez said: “Asian businesses over the years have helped shape the UK’s economic landscape and contributed immensely towards its success and growth. YABA aims to not only promote but also highlight the success of Asians, both in business and professions.”
