Galliford Try wins contracts worth £49m for upgrade work

HOUSEBUILDING and construction group Galliford Try has secured a pair of contracts worth a total of £49m from Yorkshire Water.

The contracts are to upgrade the Blackburn Meadows waste water treatment plant in Sheffield.

The larger of the contracts is worth £31m and will ensure that Blackburn Meadows meets the requirements of the EU’s Freshwater Fish Directive. The programme will last approximately 18 months. The second scheme is worth £18m and will result in a new mesophilic anaerobic digestion plant.
