Humber event heads out to Middle East

Platform Expos, a digital gaming and entertainment conference, is being put on in Doha as part of a strategy to create a business relationship between the Humber and Qatar.

Organiser Lindsay West, who is managing director of Hull-based Garthwest and a World Trade Centre Hull & Humber partner, said that the initiative illustrated the potential for exporting concepts and services.

Mr West created Platform Expos with help from the World Trade Centre to help Humber businesses to enter the huge global digital gaming market.

Now entering its third year, it is expected to attract up to 10,000 visitors to Hull University next March.

Mr West decided to export the conference to the capital of Qatar and Platform Doha was born
