Ideal’s centre of excellence to create new jobs

JOBS are set to be created when a heating firm sets up a major regional base in Yorkshire.

Ideal Heating is establishing a Northern Centre of Excellence at Capitol Park, in Morley, near Leeds.

The company is taking 7,000 sq ft of office space at Sterling Court, in Capitol Park East, which is by junction 28 of the M62. Ideal Heating is renting the building on a 10-year lease and is expected to move into Capitol Park next month. Around 10 staff will be based there, and 20 others are expected to visit each day to undergo training in areas such as customer service.

Capitol Park, Leeds, is one of five business parks developed in Yorkshire by property company Sterling Capitol, which was formed in May 1991.

Apart from the £100m, 55-acre Capitol Park in Morley, Sterling Capitol has also developed the 72-acre Capitol Park at Thorne, near Doncaster, and the £20m Capitol Park at Normanton near Wakefield.

Martin Croxen, the chief executive of Sterling Capitol, said: “Job creation is at the heart of our plans at Capitol Park and there are already more than 1,450 people employed on site at companies as diverse as Carcraft, dePuy, de Vere Village Hotels, Real Radio, the NHS and the Henderson Insurance Group.”

Lizzie Ridler, of joint agents Knight Frank in Leeds, said: “The deal is an important reminder that deals can be done in the Yorkshire out-of-town business park market.”
