Infrastructure and workforce investment boosts SICL revenues by 45 per cent

AN IT reseller has seen a 45 per cent boost in its revenues, after investing in its infrastructure.

SICL, which provides a variety of business and IT network services, increased earnings across all parts of its business in 2013/2014, recording £6.6m turnover, one year into a five-year strategy.

The 45 per cent growth was seen throughout the company’s business lines, including cloud services, projects and professional services provision. Its managed services division saw 30 per cent growth.

Gary Saunders, sales and marketing director at the company, said the “exciting” year is just the start of the business’ development.

He said: “Due to the continued investment SICL made in its IT infrastructure and personnel the company has been able to endure the challenges of the recession and spring-board out of it in an extremely strong and competitive position.”

The growth in managed services “demonstrates how well SICL is positioned to adapt to changing customer requirements”, Mr Saunders said.

SICL increased its workforce by 22 per cent across the year.

As part of its personnel development strategy, SICL has renewed its position as an Investors in People case study, which it has been involved with since 2007.

Mr Saunders said: “For us, Investors in People provides a framework for the learning, training, accreditation and development of all our personnel. But more than that, it gives us the opportunity to gain external feedback on our business and the activities that help us to continually develop and improve our performance.”

The company also provided IT services worth £125,000 to its chosen charity the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. It has committed to providing an additional £170,000 in support across the next five years.

The company will continue to invest in its people and grow its technical proficiency in the coming year, Mr Saunders added.
