Intastop opens the door to new premises

Intastop, which has moved from a small unit to a large building at Kelham Industrial Estate in Doncaster, invested over 500,000 in its new premises and machinery to cope with the expanding business.

The company reported a 2.2m turnover for 2009/10 and said it is on target to better this figure in 2010/11. It has taken on five staff in the last year, bringing the total headcount up to 20.

It supplies door and wall protective products along with anti-ligature and access seals and acoustic products to the NHS and prisons in the UK.

It also supplies the education and retail sector as well as laboratories and kitchens. The Albert Hall in London has also been a customer.

Sarah Barsby, director of Intastop said: "Whilst the general downturn has been a considering factor in future forecasts, our position has remained strong and during the 2009/10 financial period saw considerable growth. There are no secrets to our success, I put it down to the markets we serve, our product portfolio and our customer service."

Coun Jonathan Wood, Doncaster's cabinet member for business, development, planning, regeneration and new enterprise unveiled the new building. He said: "It's great to see such a passionate and committed company that continues to retain its commitment to the Doncaster area because the owners and staff all live and work in the area.

"In 2003 the local authority provided support when the company gained a 10,000 grant and I see that as a staggering return on the investment.

"The business community should celebrate this remarkable achievement in the company."
