Avviso will enable businesses to deliver news, features, video, audio and Flash-based interactions and real-time information to their employees. It also includes social media features to encourage collaborative working.

Andy Holt, creative director at Words & Pictures, said: "We have had a lot of interest in the system and over the next few months we will be looking to build on that. There is no doubt that there is an appetite out there for this."

Avviso, which has taken just under a year to produce, is a self-contained plug-in-and-play application for companies that already use the Sharepoint system.

Words and Pictures, which employs 30 staff, produces corporate magazines, brochures and online publications for clients including Asda, T-Mobile and Procter & Gamble.

A second launch will take place at Microsoft in London on December 16. The companies are already working on a second version of the system with a number of other features.
