Irwin Mitchell to renew sponsorship of a 'city gem'

IT IS one of Sheffield's most prized assets.

Sheffield City Hall has hosted performances by Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles in its long and illustrious history and next year sets a new precedent when it stages the city's first party political conference, with the visit of the Liberal Democrats.

For these reasons and more, law firm Irwin Mitchell has decided to renew its sponsorship of the Oval Hall within the venue.

John Pickering, managing partner, said: "The City Hall is one of the city's gems. Like Sheffield International Venues, which manages the City Hall, we have a long-standing relationship with Sheffield and the surrounding communities.

"We are delighted to have renewed our sponsorship. This reaffirms our commitment to the city and gives us the opportunity to enjoy some of the fantastic performances that are on show at the Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall." Under the deal, the national law firm has secured naming rights and sponsorship for another three years, extending a relationship which began five years ago, following the 12.5m refurbishment of the acclaimed venue.

Andrew Graham, of Sheffield City Hall, said: "We're proud that a company as prestigious as Irwin Mitchell recognises the importance of the venue and have continued to support us.

"Both the City Hall and Irwin Mitchell have cemented their legacy in the heritage of the city and it seems a fitting partnership that we hope will continue in years to come"
