Launch of new SME service ‘to see 23,000 jobs’

Yesterday’s announcement about the new national Manufacturing Advisory Service was no exception.

It claimed that it will generate £1.5bn growth and create 23,000 jobs.

Pressed for an explanation, a Government spokesman said: “The MAC proposal combines best practice from four experienced MAS suppliers with innovative strategies to increase client outcomes and reduce costs.

“The forecast outcomes are based on ‘knowing what works’ from past performance and proven capability to replicate and scale best outcomes nationally.”
