Law firm expands into Leeds as it views growth

Bevan Brittan is expecting to recruit seven partners, together with a supporting team of legal professionals and administrative staff for the office in Toronto Square, Leeds.

The firm has already announced Michael Boyd and Julie Cowan-Clark as the first two partners, both joining from DWF in Leeds.

The firm already works widely with clients in the region but hopes the opening of the office will bolster its presence further.

Mr Weir said: “Leeds is a major commercial centre in its own right and also a key centre for the public sector, taking a lead role in the Core Cities programme and housing NHS England’s national HQ. As such, it makes strong strategic sense for us to have a base in Leeds.

“Our commitment to this investment is reinforced by the fact that our senior partner, Beth Evans, will be based in our new Leeds office to support its opening and growth.”

Ms Cowan-Clark, who has more than 15 years’ property experience across the public and private sector, said: “Bevan Brittan is a pro-active, forward thinking and enthusiastic firm that provides high quality commercial support to clients across the public and private sector. I am delighted to be joining an experienced national team and being part of the expansion into Leeds.”

Mr Boyd is a healthcare lawyer and has specialised in commercial issues affecting the NHS for nearly 20 years.

The opening takes the Bevan’s offices to four - alongside London, Birmingham and Bristol.
