Merger makes sense for companies

ONE of Leeds's longest established property consultants has merged with a privately owned commercial property agent.

Adair Paxton, which has offices in Leeds city centre and Horsforth, has joined forces with Neil Thornber Commercial, based in Wetherby.

The firms said the decision was based on the compatibility of the two companies.

The move will also widen geographical coverage. Neil Thornber Commercial operates east of Leeds covering Castleford, Pontefract, Wakefield and surrounding areas.

Adair Paxton was created in 1999 when Adair Davy and Paxtons merged, both having been in operation since the mid-1800s. Neil Thornber Commercial, which has traded since 1997, will retain its current identity and branding.
