It is hoped that the development will attract interest from small firms who want to grow rapidly, despite the tough economic climate.

Devonshire Works has undergone a significant refurbishment programme which has been carried out by Henry Boot Developments. It is divided into Alpha House, Parkhead House and Carver House.

All three offer accommodation across three floors and feature refurbished entrances or receptions, upgraded common areas and lift access. It is part of the Devonshire Quarter, which is home to a cluster of shops, cafes, bars, pubs and entertainment venues, as well as Devonshire Green which hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the main stage of the city’s Tramlines music festival.

Knight Frank partner Tim Bottrill said yesterday: “Devonshire Works offers businesses the chance to base themselves in Sheffield’s most exciting and diverse quarter.

“As well as the secure on-site car parking, the area is also serviced by excellent transport links, with major bus routes and trams running just one road away on West Street.

“The buildings have amenities including coffee shops, restaurants, sandwich shops and bars on their doorstep and they are a stone’s throw from live entertainment venues like City Hall as well as outdoor areas to relax like Devonshire Green.

“Shoppers can choose from a number of vintage clothing boutiques or opt for high street names like Sa-Kis, Ark and the nearby John Lewis. As well as independent businesses, the area has attracted national chains such as Starbucks, Costa and O2.

“The range of office space on offer at Devonshire Works means this new development should appeal to businesses of all sizes – from a smaller business that could find its creative base in Alpha House to bigger organisations with a larger workforce who will prefer accommodation in Parkhead House.”
