MSM moves to new headquarters as it plans high street presence

A YORKSHIRE-based property management services business has moved to a new head office, as it gears up for growth in 2014.

MSM Properties, which was founded by Leeds-based entrepreneur Malcolm Myers in 2007, has established a headquarters at Brooklands Court, in Tunstall Road, in Leeds, after previously being based at Airedale House on Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

Mr Myers said that the new HQ was more centrally located for the company’s landlords.

He added: “We wanted to manage the properties more effectively.”

MSM has got around 350 properties on its books in cities including Leeds, Bradford, and Preston. Mr Myers has set himself the target of having around 500 properties on MSM’s books, before he puts a cap on the company’s expansion.

Mr Myers added: “We’re still looking for locations for a high street presence.” It’s hoped that MSM, which employs five staff, will have at least one high street branch by the end of 2014.

Mr Myers said that he was considering locations in Leeds or Wetherby, and the planned move on to the high street had been driven by MSM’s rapid growth.

Mr Myers, a former rally driver, offers a “hands-on approach” that enables clients to sit back and let MSM deal with the day-to-day running of the property.

Mr Myers’s family owned Sydney Green (Leeds), a clothing business that employed 100 people during its heyday in the 1970s.

Mr Myers has a passion for motor sport, and, in the 1980s, he competed in the Lombard RAC rally.
