Multi-Tech Engineering looks to new markets as it moves into bigger HQ
Multi-Tech Engineering (UK), from Featherstone, is creating jobs for trainee engineers.
It is also moving to bigger, purpose-built premises with more sophisticated technology in Ferrybridge, as part of a £3m investment backed by Yorkshire Bank.

Hide AdInvestment is being made in new plant, including a 50-tonne overhead crane and modern machining centres in a 34,500 sq ft, workshop and office building, which is treble the size of its current facility.
This will enable the company to handle bigger components and service larger contracts.
Multi-Tech Engineering, which was founded in 1987 by the husband and wife team of Deborah and Richard Smith, provides a wide range of engineering services to the power, oil and gas, plastics and other manufacturing industries across the UK.
The business specialises in medium to heavy engineering and has full machining facilities to manufacture new components and assemblies as well as carrying out refurbishments and re- pairs.

Hide AdThe company also provides grinding, welding and fabrication services.
The investment is part of a managed growth plan which is expected to see the company’s total staff increase from 22 to 40, and its turnover double to £5m.
Richard Smith, the company’s director, said: “In spite of the economic climate, there is continuing investment in plant, new equipment and technology in our industry and this is giving us a chance to grow and win more work.
“We have a highly-skilled workforce, stringent quality standards and the ability to provide our customers with a quick turnaround.
