New Barcalys’ senior business manager named to work with its local SME clients

ANDREW Parmenter has been appointed as senior business manager for the business banking division of Barclays in Leeds.

Barclays said that Mr Parmenter, who has worked for the bank in various roles for over 32 years, has “extensive experience” in the SME sector and has previously supported businesses in York and London.

Indigo Planning has boosted its planning team in Leeds with Matthew Stocks joining as assistant planner and Hannah Smith joining as senior planner. She previously gained five years of experience in town planning consultancy at Drivers Jonas Deloitte.

West Yorkshire firm Keighley Laboratories, which specialises in the analysis, testing and heat treatment of metals, has appointed three of its managers to divisional directors. Michael Emmott becomes divisional commercial director for the heat treatment division, Matthew Mellor is now divisional technical director responsible for the technical services division, including the test house, machine shop and chemical laboratory, while David Wright has been named divisional production director for the heat treatment division. Tax specialist Emily Duffy has moved from accountancy firm Armstrong Watson’s Skipton office to join its tax team in Leeds. She has recently been awarded the first ever Chartered Tax Association (CTA) Leeds branch prize award for her success in the CTA exams in May.

Accountancy firm Garbutt & Elliott has recruited a specialist VAT consultant. Brian Birt, who will be working from both the York and the Leeds offices, joins from PKF accountants in Leeds

Meanwhile, Met Geo Environmental has appointed two new trainee surveyors, Matthew Wilby and Mohammad Vickas Alyas.

South Yorkshire-based Brinsworth Academy of Engineering has appointed Vickey Knight as recruitment and training executive.
