New MD to lead way on robot technology

Yorkshire engineering specialist Cenfra has appointed a new managing director to spearhead its drive to boost the use of robotics in the food and drink sector.

Steve Blazye has been named as the head of the Doncaster-based Centre for Food Robotics and Automation.

He has previously worked in industrial engineering, specialist heat treatment and robotic integration systems.

His new job will involve strengthening its status as a leading centre of excellence for automation in food and drink.

Cenfra, which is not-for-profit and funded by Yorkshire Forward, provides project support and management services for the food manufacturing sector, including intricate simulation and machine design.

Mr Blazye said: "There are exciting times ahead for Cenfra and I am delighted to be part of this thriving organisation.

"I believe passionately in Cenfra's role within the food and drink industry, which I consider to be vital to ensuring its future sustainability and competitiveness.

"I aim to invigorate Cenfra towards becoming indispensable to helping UK food businesses improve efficiency."
