New Middle East base for fire-hit firm

Air conditioning manufacturer Airedale International has opened an office at Dubai Airport’s Freezone, as part of its global expansion plans.

The launch event, which follows the opening of Airedale’s base in Moscow last year, was attended by more than 40 customers and international business partners from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and further afield.

The guests were joined by Karen Williams, deputy director of the UKTI (UK Trade and Investment), at the British Embassy in Dubai, who has provided advice to Airedale.

An Airedale spokesman said: “With the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar, and Dubai named as the venue for the 2020 World Expo, the third largest global event, anticipated spending on infrastructure of around $150bn over the coming years is expected to kick start an era of significant economic growth in the Middle East.”
