New office complex for city centre building

Developer Bruntwood will convert the 14-storey City House, based at Leeds train station, into new offices.

Craig Burrow, director of Leeds for Bruntwood, said the finished building, which is expected to be ready for occupation by mid-2013, would provide office space to suit all business sizes, including serviced office space.

He said the firm was talking to a number of potential occupiers and is working with Network Rail to achieve the necessary approvals required to start on site early next year.

Mr Burrow added: “City House will benefit from meticulous design, precision craftsmanship and the highest quality materials to ensure it impresses on every level. The building will be priced to appeal to a wide range of occupiers and our aim is to develop vibrant and well-functioning places that create the right environments for our customers to succeed.”

City House was acquired by Bruntwood in July 2010 and the redevelopment will create a new entrance foyer and mezzanine reception, with concierge-style service providing a friendly and professional welcome.

Mr Burrow said: “Our proposals include re-cladding the building’s exterior, remodelling the pedestrian entrance and public realm and creating additional access to the basement car park.”

Bruntwood owns five commercial buildings in Leeds including West One and 14 King Street.
