What was your first job?

As a student I worked in a pop factory washing bottles – it only lasted a week thankfully as I was rushed into hospital for an emergency appendectomy!

If not in your present job, what would you like to do?

Be a cartoonist.

What would be your ideal day away from the office?

A steam train journey on the Settle to Carlisle line or a VIP day at a Moto GP event.

Name one person you would most like to have dinner with.

Other than my husband, Guy Martin, a motorbike racer with an appreciation of historic engineering achievements.

What was your best subject at school?

In secondary education I excelled at human biology, sociology and gymnastics.

What are your hobbies?

Following British Superbike, World Superbikes and Moto GP racing.

What would you do if you won the Lottery?

I’d give a large donation to the Religious Society of Friends. I benefited from a terrific secondary education at the Friends’ School Great Ayton because my parents were given financial assistance. Then I’d take off around the world with my husband.

What is your top time saving tip?

Don’t put off till tomorrow what can be done today.

What is your favourite time of day?

Evening, settling down with my husband after a hard day at work.

Jeans.

What is the best thing about being in Yorkshire?

Fantastic countryside, good communities, great people and good local traders.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

Remember the giggles we have shared!
