What was your first job?

A kitchen porter at Fortnum & Mason, where I learnt how to make the perfect cinnamon toast and welsh rarebit.

If not in your present job, what would you like to do?

As little as possible, or even less.

What was your worst mistake?

Not going to university and reading law straight after school.

What would be your ideal day away from the office?

Ancient history

What are your hobbies?

Leeds United season ticket holder and idling,

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

I would immediately retire.

What is your top time-saving tip?

Preparation, it saves so much time in the long run.

What is your favourite time of day and why?

Three o’clock in the afternoon. It is either time for a cup of tea, or kick-off time.

What is your favourite garment?

Drinking shoes.

What is the best thing about being in Yorkshire?

I live in the Dales
