Over the Moon after picking up award

FASHION fabrics made at Abraham Moon’s Yorkshire-based mill, which sees the process through from raw material to finished product, helped it win an award for Supplier of the Year at the NatWest UK Fashion & Textile Awards 2013, writes Suzan Uzel. The textiles manufacturer, which dates from 1837 and employs 200 staff at its base in Guiseley, has among its customers the likes of Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Paul Smith.

John Walsh, managing director, said: “It is really nice because we were voted for by our peers in the industry, so it’s really our customers that have nominated us, and that’s quite something because they are buying from around the world.” Abraham Moon, which has expanded into furnishings, has seen turnover grow from around £9.8m in 2009 to £15m today.
