P+L buy strengthens presence in pest control

YORKSHIRE group P+L Systems has bought pest control supplies business Procter Pest Stop from Leeds-based Procter Brothers.

The acquisition of Procter Pest Stop, based in South Wales, will enable Knaresborough-based P+L to strengthen its position in the pest control sector.

Peter Mangion, MD of P+L, said: “Procter Pest Stop is a well-known brand in the sector, has enjoyed strong growth and built an excellent reputation over many years for high quality products and service. This is an important strategic acquisition for P+L Systems, one which broadens our offer to our increasingly wide pest control and facilities management customer base, across Europe.

“We are also pleased to be able to secure continuity of customer and supplier relationships through the transfer of key staff to our business, as well as the Pest-Stop brand itself.”

Jeremy Procter, MD of Procter Brothers, said: “The production and supply of pest control products from Procter Brothers goes back more than 100 years, but now is the time to move on and we want to dedicate our focus to the business-to-business divisions we have within Procter such as machine guarding, security fencing and concrete products.”

P+L Systems, which supplies customers in over 80 countries, were advised by a team from the Leeds office of PKF (UK) LLP. Procter Brothers was advised on the deal by the Leeds offices of accountancy firm Mazars and law firm Clarion.
