Project proves a clean sweep

An apprenticeship programme aimed at getting young people back into the workplace by teaching them cleaning and environmental skills has been successfully completed in Bradford.

Training provider Nordic Pioneer teamed up with Bradford Council to launch an apprenticeship scheme in the city late last year.

The six-month programme provided an apprenticeship qualification in cleansing and support services, which encourages young people to take an active role in cleaning up the streets in their local area while learning new skills.

Eleven people took part in the first round.
