THE Leeds office of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has raised more than £16,000 in the last year for Yorkshire charity Martin House.

The money will be used to pay for music therapy services for children and their families.

The charity, based in Boston Spa, provides care and support free of charge for children and young people with "life limiting" conditions and their families.

PwC has raised the money through various fundraising activities such as a shopping extravaganza at House of Fraser, a cake competition and entering a team to run the Leeds 10k.

Jo Goff, senior manager and chair of the charities committee at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Leeds, said: "We're very proud to be able to present Martin House with such a substantial amount of money. It's due to the generosity of the PwC staff in Leeds and the tireless fundraising by our charities committee."

Julie Henderson, fundraiser at Martin House, said: "We are immensely grateful to PwC; we've been the chosen charity for the last two years and formed a great relationship with them.

"Their very kind donation goes towards the 4.2m a year we need to raise to keep Martin House running. Music therapy is one of the additional and very worthwhile services we offer, as it gives a lot of fun and enjoyment to the children and their families during their stays."
