Relatives made company directors at Hesco groups

TWO relatives of Jimi Heselden have become company directors of businesses owned by the multi-millionaire who died in tragiccircumstances.

Julie Anne Heselden, 52, and Beverley Heselden, 50, were appointed as directors of Hesco Bastion Ltd and Hesco Blastbloc Ltd on October 5, according to documents filed at Companies House.

Mr Heselden, 62, died on September 26 after falling 40ft from a cliff near his home at Thorp Arch, Wetherby.

Police said he had been riding an upright scooter, manufactured by another of his companies, Seg-way.

The former miner made his fortune from Hesco barriers, wire cage walls which are filled with aggregate to protect troops from explosions or shorelines from flood-ing.

Probate registry documents have revealed that he had assets worth 290m at the time of his death.

Mr Heselden had kept a low profile, but in recent years developed a reputation as a philanthropist and folk hero in the area of Leeds in which he grew up.

He donated millions to charities including Help for Heroes and the Leeds Community Foundation, which received 23m.
