Robson takes top business award

ENGINEERING firm Geo Robson & Co (Conveyors) was the major winner at Sheffield Business Awards.

The firm, which carries out work with airports, power generators and the sugar refinery industry, was named Sheffield Chamber of Commerce & Industry outstanding business of the year. Production director Kevin Mannion picked up the prize for Kennedy's business person of the year and the firm also won the Wake Smith excellence in manufacturing award and the Irwin Mitchell award for excellence in customer service.

Sheffield International Venues won in the NHS Sheffield healthy business category and the Sports and Leisure Business Forum excellence in sports services category, supported by the Sheffield 2018 Bid. Tristan Cowell, from IC Innovations, was named Sheffield City Council young business person of the year. Comedian Jon Culshaw compered the event, organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.
