Safestyle looks to take on staff after funding

BRADFORD-based double glazing firm Safestyle UK yesterday revealed that it hoped to create jobs after securing extra fund- ing.

The company has secured a partnership with Barclays Corporate to help its operations grow.

Mike Robinson, the financial director for Safestyle, said: “This will provide us with the working capital in order to expand. If sales materialise, there will be more volumes and jobs.

“There are certain areas where we don’t have as much of a presence as we would like – they are the extremities of the UK, such as the south west, East Anglia, Wales and Scotland.

“With the new banking facilities in place, we are now able to focus on rolling out our brand across the UK.”

Financial details for the deal have not been disclosed.

Formed in 1992, Safestyle UK is one of the biggest companies in the UK providing uPVC double glazed windows and doors.

The company, which is part of the Style Group, employs 535 staff and has around 2,000 self-employed agents around Britain.

Last year, the company installed more than £100m of replacement doors and windows.

Mr Robinson said the company’s performance hadn’t been greatly affected by the slowdown in the housing market.

Consumers who choose to stay in their existing property often decide to improve it by fitting new windows and doors, Mr Robinson said.

The company is planning further advertising campaigns to support its growth plans.
