Saffery’s expansion plans strengthened with new addition to its tax department

Saffery Champness has strengthened its tax department and senior management team with the appointment of chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser Sally Thomas.

Ms Thomas, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners who has almost 30 years’ experience in the accountancy profession, joins the Harrogate firm from PwC in Leeds.

Martin Holden, head of office at Saffery Champness, said her experience in the firm’s core market of owner managed businesses and their families would be invaluable as it pressed ahead with its growth plans.

Following a period of expansion, Leeds-based PR and social media agency Umpf has appointed two new members of staff.

Pip Morrall and Tom Scott – who take the roles of account director and account executive respectively – have both joined the Leeds-based team to work on Umpf’s consumer facing campaigns for brands such as Glorious! Foods, bizzybee, Glen Dimplex Home Appliances and StressFreeAirportParking. com

Business law firm, DWF, has strengthened its construction team with the appointment of Andrew Symms, from Ever-sheds.

Mr Symms, who joins the firm as a partner, will be based in DWF’s Leeds office and will work across a national client base.
