Science firm goes for expansion after sealing development deal
Paraytec, which is based in York, has sealed a deal with Malvern Instruments, based in Worcestershire.
Mark Vaux, Paraytec’s chief executive, said: “Malvern make scientific instruments that are used to measure the properties of materials and fluids.

These are all important factors for scientists formulating and manufacturing products in a wide range of industries including powders, paints, food, pharmaceuticals and personal care products.
“Malvern is the market leader and do most things very well, but there are some areas where Paraytec’s technology works better.”
Paraytec, which has six staff and a turnover of £236,000, has created technology which uses ultra-violet light to analyse fluids and particles.
Mr Vaux added: “It works with tiny amounts of sample in capillaries the width of a human hair and can detect things that other instruments cannot.

Paraytec is a spin-out from the University of York and also works with the University of Bradford.
