The seeds of success for Woodheads

YORKSHIRE’S biggest seed grower and processor has secured a £2m financing package from the Royal Bank of Scotland corporate and institutional banking.

Selby-based Woodheads Seeds, which has 10 permanent staff, dates back to the early 19th cent- ury.

Woodheads, which has revenues of around £23.3m, is part of The Wynnstay Group, one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of agricultural goods to farmers and rural communities.

The extended funding will be used for capital expenditure and business investment.

Jonathan Woodhead, the managing director of Woodheads Seeds, said the package would allow the company to “push on this year and help us achieve the bold targets we have set ourselves during 2012”.
